1942- The remarkable year for the flagship Quit India Movement rolled the wave of freedom also at the remote village AJAYA under Khejuri Block in Medinipur( presently as East Medinipur) district of West Bengal. The then noble and freedom fighters (Dilip Maity, Mukteshar Pahari, Rishikesh Mandol et ll along with the local villagers established a club to worship BHARATMATA (an embodiment of India). The primary objective was to mobilise the community to stand by in the freedom movement and assist the freedom fighters by providing daily needs when they were underground.
