Many children from underprivileged backgrounds continue to be deprived of access to quality education, which further widens inequalities in learning outcomes. In the present scenario, digital education has emerged as a key solution to bridge this gap. However, the challenging economic conditions of marginalized families remain a significant barrier to accessing digital resources and technology.
To address this divide, PADASALAI initiated the “After-School Tuition” Program with the objective of providing academic support and learning opportunities to deprived children through focused educational interventions tailored to community needs. Mettukadu Village, located under Maraimalainagar Municipality, has a high concentration of Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities. Children from this village currently attend Sattamangalam and Peramanur Primary and High Schools, and the program seeks to strengthen their educational foundation through structured after-school support.
PADASALAI focuses on the empowerment of women and girls through skills training because they are disproportionately affected by poverty and discrimination and suffer abuse and violations in the realisation of their rights entitlements and access and control over resources Also
