helpers of the handicapped, kolhapur is a registered voluntary organization working for the empowerment and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities for over four decades. the organization is committed to making persons with disabilities productive, self-reliant, and dignified members of society. the organization primarily serves rural and economically disadvantaged communities, with a special focus on children, women, and youth with disabilities. over the last 44 years, helpers of the handicapped has supported more than 38,000 persons with disabilities through education, medical assistance, vocational training, assistive devices, and rehabilitation services. major initiatives include: • inclusive school – samarth vidya mandir & vidyalaya, unchgaon, kolhapur • hostel-cum-rehabilitation centre (gharonda) • vocational training centres • physiotherapy and rehabilitation services
